Indigo sessions. Come join Joanna Close at her home on Porters Lake for a session of dyeing with Indigo. These indigo sessions are organized to allow for you to bring your own fabric or clothing and dye them as you choose. The sessions are open to beginners and experienced dyers. Indigo vats can be time consuming to make and it can be difficult to have the space to make one on your own. These sessions are designed to bring people together to use communal indigo vats.

I will provide basic instruction and indigo vats, you prepare fabric or clothing (Details about how to prepare will be communicated prior to the session). Indigo is a process that lends very well to resist methods known as shibori. Instructions and tools for using shibori techniques on your pieces will be provided. An afternoon refreshment will be included. This session will run rain or shine and will be held out doors.

• A second date of May 4th 1pm – 4:30pm may be added if the demand is high.

Location: Porters Lake NS, This session will take place at Joanna Close’s home studio on Porters Lake.
